In most tourist destinations, like the Dominican Republic, Riviera Maya, Bahamas, Jamaica etc.
you have two options to celebrate the wedding of your dreams the first is to get married in a Super Hotel (all-inclusive), which are those huge hotels which they will do everything for you.
But the fact that they do everything for you doesn’t mean that your wedding will be perfect.
The other option is getting married on the beach or a boutique hotel (other than all-inclusive) that are usually much cheaper. To understand the differences read below.

GOOD AND BAD THINGS TO GET MARRIED IN AN ALL INCLUSIVE HOTEL RESORT

Pros
The big international hotel companies and the “all-inclusive” usually have nice facilities, luxury and usually have nice beaches in the area. If you decide to get married in one of these places you will have a wedding planner who will be in charge of advising you on everything related to the big wedding day. Most of the time your family and guests will stay in the same place as there is enough space. But it also means that they have to be staying in these expensive locations, not everyone can afford that. You don’t need to leave the hotel at all and explore the culture.
These hotels have a team of photographers and videographers who will “cover” part of your wedding.
If you care more for is a social status that is for you.

Cons:
On the other hand, the big hotels try to keep you and your guests in a golden bubble. They don’t want you to leave their facilities to explore the culture, food and local people.
The big hotels try to monopolize all your activities and will try to sell their tours at their
own prices, they don’t want you to go out exploring other restaurants and kitchens.
Typical, they will do everything possible that you spend every penny in their facilities. When we talk
about your wedding at the big Resort, they have very expensive wedding packages and not all people can afford it.
Destination Wedding photo packages are meticulously specific for you to spend more money after your wedding day. For example, they will tell you that the Photography and Video service is included in your wedding package. They cover just a fraction of your wedding (a couple of hours, you want more.. you pay more) But what they don’t tell you is that they usually use very young, inexperienced “photographers” who receive a minimum salary and are not going to put any effort on creating true memories for and your family.
Real Photographers really try to take artistic photos that you can proudly hang on the wall of your house or office.
Most of the time, wedding packages at all-inclusive resorts will not cover the best moments of your day, such as when you ready, the first look, the reception, the cutting cake, weddings, and family portraits. They will focus only on the ceremony only in which it includes only 30 to 50 photos and a 3 min video clip, that’s it. If you want the “photographer” for a longer time you will have to pay more and if you want more printed photos you need to pay more for each of those photos too.
What can you do?

Now, if you want to bring an external real wedding photographer
You will need to pay out of your pocket up to $ 1000 USD! (plus what the photographer charges you for his services) they called“External suppliers fee” !! Plus another $ 1000 USD, if you want,
Bring a videographer. This is just for them to enter the hotel and shoot your wedding. Some Photographers are willing to share that commission fee as long as you hire them.
Your Wedding planner will do everything possible for your wedding, but because she/he is limited to what the hotel offers, you will have limits as to how personalized you want your wedding to be. Since no big resort will offer a unique experience, for them it will be just one more wedding.
(like every weekend) with the same menu, the same decoration, the same music band,
the same flowers, the same colors, the same photo, bla bla bla..

GOOD AND BAD THINGS TO CELEBRATE YOUR WEDDING IN A BOUTIQUE HOTEL OR EVENTS ROOM

The pros
Unlike the All-Inclusive Resort Hotels, when you celebrate your wedding at a Boutique Hotel,
Event Hall, Restaurant, Villa or even a nice Airbnb. You have much more freedom to have a wedding exactly as you always dreamed. Since you have the freedom to choose your own wedding photographer, your own decoration, you choose your Wedding Planner, DJ, etc. No need to pay extra fees. In this type of “small hotels,” the costs of your wedding will be much lower. You will have a more accessible place for you and your partner but for all your family and guests. Once you have the option to rent the whole place and make it even more exclusive. They will have the freedom to explore plus the area and live the experience of the place without limitations. You can choose a wedding photographer with much more experience in different places and with a unique style. Which will take pictures of your day from beginning to the end. The same goes for the Wedding Videographer. Sometimes they also give you more freedom to fly a drone and capture more angles.
Another advantage is that your Wedding Planner will be 100% focused on your wedding since for her/him each Wedding is unique and different. The restaurant, Villa or event hall will give you the freedom to choose themes and decorations based on your own taste.

The Cons:
Celebrating your wedding at a local Boutique Hotel or Events Room is that it will require a little more of your time and attention so that everything goes as you have always dreamed. But hey, that’s why there are good wedding planners!

So there you have it! Whether you celebrate your wedding at an All-Inclusive Resort or in a
Boutique Hotel type boho make sure you always check the small letters of the contract, see the
facilities in person before your wedding and make sure you hire the Wedding Photographer
Destination indicated and especially with the necessary experience. Remember that in the end,
once the wedding is finished, the photographs and video will be the only thing left to remember
to show your children and grandchildren.
